(EEHV) Symposium

Elephant Endotheliotropic Herpesvirus (EEHV) continues to impact Asian and African elephants in human care and in the wild. Now more than ever, it is important to continue sharing critical medical, husbandry, training, and scientific information with colleagues across the globe. The North American EEHV Advisory Group is hosting a three-day virtual Global EEHV Symposium on March 5-7, 2024 from 7 am – 10 am CST (1 pm – 4pm GMT).
This virtual Global EEHV Symposium, hosted by the North American EEHV Advisory Group, will include presentations from researchers, veterinarians, veterinary technicians, conservationists, and elephant husbandry professionals from around the globe. Presentations will cover case reports, research findings, vaccine progress reports, treatment plans, and Advisory/Working Group updates. Additionally, there will be some panel discussions offered by EEHV experts.

- Registration will open on January 16th and will close at 11:59pm on March 5, 2024
Live sessions can be watched either through the Cvent Attendee Hub page or through Cvent’s app.
To access the Attendee Hub, login to your account by clicking on “Already Registered” at the top right-hand side of the main event Summary page.
- Once in the Attendee Hub, Live sessions can be accessed by clicking on the link for each agenda item.
- All Live sessions will be shown via a Zoom platform, but you will need to exit the session upon completion, and go back to the Attendee Hub page to access the next session.
To access the event through the Cvent app, download the Cvent app through your phone’s app store. Once in the app, search for 2024 Global EEHV Symposium to access the event.
- Once in the app, Live sessions can be accessed by clicking on the link for each agenda item.
- All Live sessions will be shown via a Zoom platform, but you will need to exit the session upon completion, and go back to the Agenda page on the app to access the next session.
All conference sessions will be recorded and can be accessed by registrants for 90 days after completion of the Symposium. Recorded sessions can be accessed via the On-Demand page on the Cvent app or by clicking on each Agenda item on the Cvent Attendee Hub page.
Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians will receive continuing education credits for attendance during the Live presentations. The number of credits earned will be based on the number of hours each registrant attends actively attends. Certificates will be mailed out by early May. If you do not receive a certificate by the end of May, please contact [email protected].
- There will be no continuing education credits awarded for watching recorded sessions after the Symposium has ended
All talks will be pre-recorded with the speakers being available at the completion of the talk for a Live Q&A session.
There will be a moderator assigned to each conference presentation to help presenters with questions. During the presentation, attendees can type comments or questions into the Message Text area, then click Post Message Text to submit your comment or question. During the Q & A period at the end of the presentation, questions or comments can be submitted by typing in the chat panel.
ALL QUESTIONS WILL BE HELD AND ANSWERED AT THE END OF THE SESSION. IF TIME DOES NOT ALLOW FOR ALL QUESTIONS TO BE ASKED, WE WILL SHARE THE SPEAKERS’ CONTACT INFO SO THAT QUESTIONS CAN BE DIRECTED TO THEM.
REGISTRATION IS NOT REFUNDABLE.
If you are already registering for the 2024 Global EEHV Symposium, access to this presentation is included in your registration, and the presentation will be accessed the same as all of the EEHV presentations.
Even If you are not planning to attend the 2024 Global EEHV Symposium, you will still be able to attend the Elephant TB Working Group Update presentation. In order to gain access to it, you will need to register through the Global EEHV Symposium’s registration process. Be sure to select Elephant TB Working Group Update as your Registration Type.
